New Device Will Detect Blood Sugar Levels Through Gas Sensors

Are you in search of a non invasive glucose meter?  A technology company called AerNos has created a device that can detect blood sugar levels through gas sensors. Much like diabetes alert dogs, which are able to detect changes in blood glucose levels through smelling the breath of a person with diabetes, these new sensors could change the lives of people with diabetes.

AerNos creates nanotechnology-based gas sensors. These gas sensors will be added to a new wearable alert device that can when blood sugar is either too high or too low. The new device is called AerBetic, and will constantly sense exhalations to detect problems.

Blood sugar levels

If you have diabetes, it’s crucial to keep your blood sugar levels within a normal range. If your blood sugar gets too high, it can cause headaches, trouble concentrating, and blurred vision. If your blood sugar gets too low, you enter a state of hypoglycemia where you might experience dizziness, intense sweating, and irritability. Hypoglycemia can be especially problematic during the middle of the night.

New wearables

The wearable bracelets and pendants will connect to smartphones or smart home devices. They will also be able to send reminders, let caregivers know the person’s status, and store a patient’s diagnostic information. The AerBetic device will also “learn” and improve as it goes on with artificial intelligence technology.

This new technology will better the lives of people with diabetes all over the world, through a simple, affordable non invasive glucose meter.
